NCHC Joins Taiwan's AI National Team to Build an Energy-Efficient AI Cloud Data Center

At the end of last year (2018), exciting news arrived. The National Center for High-performance Computing (NCHC) under the National Applied Research Laboratories of the Ministry of Science and Technology, together with Taiwan Mobile, Quanta Computer, and ASUS, jointly built the "Cloud Service and Big Data Computing Facility and Integrated Tiered Storage System" (the "AI Cloud Platform"). Among these, the AI supercomputer "Taiwania 2," with its outstanding performance of 9 PFLOPS, claimed 20th place on the TOP500 and 10th place in energy efficiency (Green500)—both the best results in the history of Taiwan's supercomputers.
